The Geomatic Technologies solution comprises a number of core elements including:
- Work Scheduling - planners and dispatchers use a browser-based interface to view asset data, both text and geographical. Work Orders can be scheduled to optimize efficiency and responsiveness to business and customer needs.
- Field Dispatch - dispatchers are provided with tools to assign Work Orders to field crews, transmit the Work Orders to mobile devices, and receive status of Work Orders from the field. Information is displayed both textually and graphically.
- Field Work - field crews use mobile devices to receive their next Work Orders, provide status, and access corporate data. When Work Orders are completed, fault and asset specific data is captured on the field devices and synchronized with corporate data.
- Automatic Vehicle Location - GPS based automatic vehicle location (AVL) monitoring is an option that provides dispatchers with vehicle locations on map displays.
- Administration - staff details are managed, including skills and training. Equipment details are maintained and tracked against field crews. Documents (OH & S, instructions etc.) are assigned and maintained for individual field staff on their mobile device.
