1. Mechanized Track Inspection Solutions
2. Track Geometry and Ride Quality Measurement Services

Mechanized Track Inspection Solutions

Walking Patrols are an essential maintenance activity at most railway organizations. However, they present considerable safety risks to patrolling staff from train movements, trips and falls, while causing long-term musculoskeletal conditions from walking on uneven surfaces.

With increasing tonnages on rail lines and ever decreasing daylight access to the rail corridor for essential track inspection, Mechanized Track Inspection (MTI) is the obvious solution for ensuring safe and reliable infrastructure and a safe and acceptable work environment for maintenance staff.

Mechanized Track Patrol (MTP) hardware is comprised of 9 high resolution digital cameras and positioning equipment that records corridor, rail and 4' imagery on a conventional track recording vehicle. Track patrollers then conduct their track patrol in the safety of an office environment using an easy to use software application (AIMS Office), which also allows them to record defects and action them for rectification. AIMS Office interfaces with common asset management platforms to support the integrity and continuity of the defect management process.

Track Geometry and Ride Quality Measurement Services

The GT track geometry and ride quality solution integrates technology supplied by the world’s benchmark geometry system provider – ImageMap Laserail - with ride quality and spatial analysis. ImageMap is the undisputed world leader in geometry measurement and is the low risk option for periodical network condition surveys.

GT offers geometry and ride quality services railroad clients through:

  1. Complete end to end service on our own hy-rail.
  2. Mobilization on client hyrail or track recording car.
  3. Mobilization on in-service Rollingstock.

The system delivers Gauge, Top, Line, Cant and Twist data and all geometry exceedant values and index calculations are referenced to the correct track kilometrage and alignment. The ride quality measurement is based on accelerometers that can be attached to both the passenger and bogie environments (i.e. “sprung” and “unsprung” recording).
