SP AusNet engages Geomatic Technologies to conduct an asset survey across their entire electricity distribution network
27th November 2007
Melbourne, Australia –
SP AusNet have engaged Geomatic Technologies to undertake an extensive field based data capture and validation exercise
across their entire electricity distribution network, which extends over the eastern half of the State of Victoria.
Geomatic Technologies (GT) is the leading Australian company to offer specialised Field Asset Mapping services. Employing resource platforms ranging from aircraft, rail locomotives, motorcycles and conventional road and off-road vehicles, GT continue to complete the largest infrastructure data capture projects undertaken in Australia. For this project, Geomatic Technologies’ field teams equipped with the company’s own proven field mobile computing asset inspection and mapping system
(FMC-AIMS) will capture and validate a variety of information about the electrical network
Field validated data allows corporate systems to be used to their full potential and this project will provide the match and consolidation of network asset details across a range of SP AusNet’s existing systems. The results of this data capture and improvement exercise will enable SP AusNet to implement future projects to improve network capacity planning and maintenance and reduce unplanned outages and time off supply.
