Geomatic Technologies honoured at the 2007 Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards

At the 2007 Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards Jessica Davies of Geomatic Technologies (GT), was honoured with the Young Spatial Professional of the Year Award. This prestigious Awards night was held at the Regent Theatre Plaza Ballroom on Tuesday the 18th of September. The evening was hosted by the Victorian Regional groups of the Australian Spatial Information Business Association (ASIBA) and the Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI).
The 2007 Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards aim to reward individuals and organisations for their accomplishments and contributions to their industry. In addition, they enable individuals and organisations to compete against the best in Victoria.
Jessica is a Project Manager/Business Analyst for GT. Her role typically involves working closely with project stakeholders in order to accurately capture and document their requirements, working with project teams to contribute to the design of solutions to solve business problems, verifying that the proposed solution satisfies the project requirements and assisting in the preparation of the document deliverables.
The Young Spatial Professional of the Year Award recognised Jessica’s significant contribution through her participation in the promotion and development of the industry through involvement in professional organisations.
When accepting the award, Jessica appeared modest and a little overwhelmed. Jessica commented on how humble she felt to have been a nominee and that winning was an unexpected surprise.
This is the second consecutive year a team member from Geomatic Technologies has won the award, in 2006 the award was presented to Richelle Pearson.
